The bachelor's thesis describes the complex design, construction and software control of an automated film negative feeder. The device is designed as a mechatronic system in which the coordination of the drive, sensor and exposure subsystems is implemented using a built-in microcontroller. In the first part, a theoretical foundation is laid and a research survey of existing scanning technologies on the market is carried out, which define the initial technical requirements for the own solution. The following part of the thesis is devoted to a detailed engineering design of a structural structure divided into two functional chambers, which integrates a synchronous belt transmission and a sliding mechanism based on the force contact of two rollers. The electronic and sensor subsystem with a Raspberry Pi Pico control core for reliable film positioning uses an integrated light board with a diffuser and a pair of photoresistors for detecting the edges of the frames. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the software logic in the MicroPython language, which implements three specific operating modes: fully automatic, semi-automatic and manual. The realized prototype is able to reliably advance and illuminate film strips of various formats. The successful digitization of a real negative at the end of the work validates the mechanical reliability and software stability of the entire designed system.
