This thesis deals with the structural design of a shaft-type sorting shovel intended as an attachment for excavators up to 8 tons. Nowadays, there is an increasing emphasis on efficient material handling, their reuse, and reducing the amount of generated waste. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to design a structural solution that allows sorting of mainly construction and demolition waste as well as soil directly at the deployment site, thereby contributing to a higher usability of recycled materials in industry or in the field. The thesis includes a market survey of sorting shovels, as well as an overview of selected types of excavators and other related factors. Based on the obtained findings, an original structural design of the sorting shovel is subsequently created. The thesis also addresses important strength calculations, drive design, and consideration of the conditions under which this attachment will operate. The resulting structural solution includes a complete design of the sorting shovel, including the original design of the shafts and sorting segments. The proposed solution can serve as a basis for further development and optimization of shaft sorting shovels on the market.
