This master's thesis deals with the comprehensive structural and strength design of a telescopic crane spreader beam intended for handling large steel pipes. The device features a continuously adjustable arm span ranging from 8 to 18 meters and a payload capacity of 8,000 kg. To optimize weight, the main load-bearing structure is designed using S500 high-strength steel. Safe load handling is ensured by removable lamellar jaws equipped with integrated sensors for grip verification, alongside auxiliary hooks for standard slinging equipment. The thesis covers the complete conceptual design, dimensioning of subassemblies, and analytical calculations of critical elements. The overall structural integrity of the steel structure was subsequently verified by static Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in the MSC Apex environment for dynamic load cases defined by relevant standards (EN 13001, EN 13155). This analysis clearly demonstrated the structural and strength suitability of the machine for real industrial operation.
