The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis is to develop a design of a nearly zero-energy detached house on a sloped plot in the Wallachian countryside near Vsetín. The design uses wooden elements and a steep roof in order to blend in with traditional local architecture. The house is L-shaped with two storeys. The main vertical load-bearing system is made of ceramic blocks filled with polystyrene to minimize the wall thickness while still meeting all the legal requirements and providing comfortable living for a family of four. Horizontal load-bearing structures are a combination of wooden beams (above the open-plan kitchen) and Spiroll panels (above the rest of the ground floor). The roof truss is also made of wood. The foundation is a concrete slab. There is an open-plan kitchen, a pantry, an entrance hall and a utility room on the ground floor and three bedrooms on the first floor. Each floor has its own bathroom and a toilet. There is also a detached timber carport near the house with a storage space. The heating of the house is provided by an air-to-water heat pump with a cast-iron radiator in each room. The heat pump has an internal and external unit and also an integrated accumulation tank. There is also a storage tank for rainwater further down the plot, that is designed for watering the garden that is quite large. For HVAC, there is an Atrea Duplex PRO 350 unit which can also preheat the air. The design also includes connection to electricity, water, Ethernet and sewerage service line. The house is classified as A (which stands for exceptionally economical) according to the energy certificate made in DEKSOFT Energetika.
