Dedicated pressure equipment represents key components of industrial systems, the safe operation of which is associated with strict legislative requirements. This bachelor thesis deals with the diagnostics and life assessment of pressure vessels after long-term operation. Attention is paid to a specific category IV Hitachi vessel, which was subjected to a physical internal inspection and a hydrostatic pressure test. The goal of the work was to assess the current technical condition of the equipment and, using software simulations in the Sant'Ambrogio program, to determine the residual fatigue life depending on the operating history and weld quality. The results showed that the service life is critically affected by the stress factor, while manufacturing imperfections such as peeking or ovality have a significantly worse impact on the fatigue damage of the material than simple corrosion induced wall thickness reductions.
