Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the revitalization and completion of the urban structure in the historical center of the city of Prostějov, specifically its southern part. The proposal responds to the current condition of the area, its urban deficiencies, and the need to create high-quality public spaces with new functions for the city’s inhabitants. The main principle of the design is the respect for the historical building pattern and the restoration of the original urban character of the locality through the sensitive integration of contemporary architecture.
The proposal includes community housing, a community center with a café, restaurant, and coworking spaces, an extension of the cultural and social center with a gallery and administrative facilities, a day-care center for seniors with a medical office, and additional civic amenities serving wedding events. The design further develops public spaces, supports pedestrian permeability, and strengthens social and community relationships within the city center.
The aim of the thesis is to design a functional and sustainable urban structure that follows the historical development of the area while offering new opportunities for cultural, social, and everyday life in Prostějov.

Studentka nejprve pomocí analýz podrobně popsala zadání, řešené město a řešenou lokalitu. Poté výstižně popsala principy svého vlastního návrhu a úspěšně reagovala na připomínky a dotazy z posudku oponenta. Následně reagovala na otázky členů komise. Např. Proč jste rozsah řešeného území definovala právě v této podobě? Jak obhájíte zmenšení stávajícícho předprostoru před Kulturním centrem a zrušení velkých ploch povrchového parkování? Proč umisťujete parkovací dům do místa mezi Kulturním centrem a Finančním úřadem? Popište návaznost vašeho návrhu na historické stopy dřívější zástavby a stávající majetkoprávní vztahy. Jak obhájíte vámi navržené poměrně těsné obestavění kostela novými objekty? Umisťujete do území nový vodní prvek? Studentka se snažila vcelku velmi dobře reagovat na připomínky oponenta a zdůvodňovat svoje navrhované řešení, rovněž na většinu otázek členů komise k předložené práci reagovala velmi dobře.
