Abstract:

The subject of the diploma thesis was the urban structure of the second half of the 21st century. The area addressed in this thesis is defined by the streets Kostelecká, U Stadionu, Krapkova, and Fanderlíkova in Prostějov. The site is located between the sports complex and the historic center. The original use of this area is mainly for industrial purposes mixed with a smaller proportion of residential use. The proposal reverses this situation and introduces back mainly residential function into the area. The concept is based on creating a new city structure derived from the principles of sustainable development. The proposed urban structure includes a new center for the emerging community, concentrated around the historic warehouse building and the existing housing estate. The new structure is designed in phases in order to implement a strategy for the gradual regeneration of the area.

Student nejprve pomocí analýz podrobně popsal zadání, řešené město a řešenou lokalitu. Poté výstižně popsal principy svého vlastního návrhu a úspěšně reagoval na připomínky a dotazy z posudku oponenta. Následně reagoval na otázky členů komise. Např. Jak obhájíte umístění nových parkovacích věží před okna stávajících panelových bytových domů? Proč má novostavba podél výškové skladové budovy navrženu valbovou střechu? Student s dokonalým přehledem zaujímal odborná stanoviska ke všem připomínkám oponenta a výborně reagoval i na všechny otázky členů komise, které byly k obhajované práci položeny.
