This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the design of a log splitter intended for home use. The first section presents a literature review of available log splitter designs and their basic structural configurations. Based on the findings, an original design concept for the device is then proposed. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the design of the hydraulic circuit, including calculations and the selection of individual components. Subsequently, the design of the log splitter’s supporting structure and its strength calculations are addressed. The result of the thesis is a design of a device that meets the specified technical requirements, supplemented by drawing documentation of the assembly and selected structural nodes.
