Liquefied natural gas represents a key energy resource, the preparation of which requires highly efficient cryogenic equipment. This master's thesis deals with the comprehensive thermal, hydraulic, and mechanical design of a condenser, which is implemented as a spiral wound heat exchanger of the Giauque-Hampson type. The thesis is divided into several parts. The theoretical part contains research on the physical specifics of cryogenics and currently used types of heat exchangers. In the practical part, a detailed design of the device is presented, objectively comparing two different concepts of phase change location: methane condensation inside the spiral tubes and condensation in the shell space. For this purpose, a custom computational model was created in Python, using exact segmental discretization and connection to the CoolProp thermodynamic database. The main objective of the thesis is the optimization of the overall dimensions of the heat exchanger and the evaluation of the influence of the flow arrangement on the overall spatial and hydraulic efficiency of the device while ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Student odprezentoval obsah své diplomové práce. Otázky oponenta byly zodpovězeny. Pan docent Baláš se dotazuje - všechny trubky ve svazku mají stejnou délku, a tím pádem jste dosáhl rovnoměrné rozdělení - proč jste to svázal k sobě? Student zodpověděl. Pan profesor Hrdlička se ptá ke vstupním parametrům - methan - ohledně pevnosti výměníku? Student zodpověděl dotaz.
