The bachelor’s thesis focuses on the preparation of drawing documentation for a
building permit and selected parts of the construction documentation for the
execution of an automotive center for VW Group located in Brno–Černovice. The
project is based on an architectural study developed within the course BGA026
Architectural Design Studio 3.
The site is situated in the Brno–Černovice district at the corner of Švédské valy and
Vlastimila Pecha streets. According to the valid zoning plan, the area is designated
for industrial development, and the proposed building is intended to contribute to
the growth of the locality. The structure is designed as a new permanent building on
an undeveloped plot. Access to the site is provided by newly designed road
connections between Švédské valy and Vlastimila Pecha streets.
The automotive center is designed as a single building visually divided into three
functional parts – a showroom, storage facilities, and a service area. The showroom
represents the dominant architectural element, designed with an organic form, a
glazed façade, and an exposed structural system. This section includes the sale of
new vehicles, spare parts, customer services, and administrative offices located on
the second floor. The service and storage sections have a typical hall-type character.
The service area is designed as an open workshop space with only dirty operations
separated and accommodates repair, painting, washing, and related activities.
These parts are connected by a lower linking volume containing sanitary facilities
with changing rooms, spare parts storage, and technical rooms. The site design
reflects sustainability principles and local climatic conditions. Flat roofs are designed
as green roofs, and the showroom roof is intended for the installation of
photovoltaic panels.
