The subject of this bachelor thesis is the architectural and structural design for the conversion of former municipal baths into a modern public library in Prostějov, located on Floriánské Square. The aim of the design is the transformation of the original reinforced concrete skeleton into a cultural and educational center that sensitively responds to the building's industrial history while fully integrating contemporary requirements for the operation of a public institution. The design focuses on maximizing the internal volume of the building and creating representative spaces for readers and the general public. The layout of the building consistently utilizes the generous space of the original swimming pool hall, which is transformed into a main reading room with an open gallery. Into this vacated space, new functional units such as study rooms, administrative facilities, and an independently operable café are inserted using lightweight plasterboard structures. Vertical connection of all three floors is ensured by a refurbished staircase and a new barrier-free elevator, allowing comfortable access to all library services. The structural and material solution respects the original massive load-bearing walls made of solid fired bricks, supplemented by a highly efficient mineral wool insulation system. A crucial technological element is the use of vacuum VIP panels in the floors above the basement, which allowed for the required thermal insulation parameters while maintaining minimum construction height. The saddle roof above the main hall is additionally insulated with blown-in mineral insulation, eliminating thermal bridges in the complex details of the refurbished truss. The energy concept and indoor microclimate are provided by a modern air-to-air heat pump system and a central heat recovery unit. This technology allows for a flexible response to the heating or cooling needs of large halls without the need for traditional heating units. The preparation of domestic hot water is solved decentrally using electric instantaneous water heaters at the points of consumption. The overall design aims to achieve a low-energy building standard and ensure optimal acoustic comfort for visitors.

Studentka představila svou práci pomocí mediální prezentace. Studentka reagovala na výtka oponenta velmi dobře. Dotazy oponenta zodpověděla velmi dobře. Rozprava nad detailem. Pochvala za interiér, rozprava nad obvodovým pláštěm. Dotaz na zateplení fasády, zodpovězen. Dotaz na spádování střechy. Rozprava nad grafickým znázorněním stávajícího stavu a novým schodištěm. Dotaz na sklon rampy, která je ovšem původní a záměr zadavatele byl ji zachovat.
