The topic of this bachelor’s thesis is the renovation of a functionalist cinema at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The primary objective of the project is to restore the original functions of the cinema and café, complemented by an expanded use of the main hall and associated ancillary spaces. These areas are designed as multifunctional facilities intended for social events, exhibitions, and other cultural activities.
Another key objective of the renovation is the partial restoration of the building’s original character, particularly through the removal of non-original elements in the café and terrace and uncovering of the original spiral staircase. The proposal also addresses improved accessibility by introducing a new secondary entrance from the northern edge of the site, allowing access without the need to pass through the exhibition.
