This diploma thesis deals with the design of a flexible mounting system for a special vehicle cabin with a high level of ballistic crew protection mounted on a 4×4 chassis. The vehicle is currently manufactured under the designation Patriot II by Excalibur Army. The main objective of the thesis is to propose a structural solution for the cabin mounting that ensures a reduction in the transmission of vibrations and shocks, and consequently also noise generated during vehicle operation on both paved and unpaved roads. The design takes into account the vehicle’s operating conditions, mass parameters, dynamic loading, and the requirements for reliability and simplicity with regard to the intended area of vehicle use. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a literature review of the issue of vibration generation during vehicle operation and the possible methods of mounting the cabin to the chassis. Subsequently, an analysis of the current state of the vehicle is carried out and the requirements for a new mounting solution are defined. The practical part of the thesis is focused on simulation analyses of vehicle operation, the structural design of the flexible mounting system, and the verification of the proposed mounting, with particular emphasis placed on the dynamic behavior of the system. The result of the thesis is a design of a flexible cabin mounting system that represents a basis for the further development of the cabin mounting by the vehicle manufacturer.
