This work focuses on the synthesis and characterization of reactive diluents (RD) derived from renewable resources for application in 3D printing, specifically stereolithography (SLA). The synthesized molecules include vanillin methacrylate (VanMA), vanillin dimethacrylate (VanDiMA), and cinnamyl methacrylate (CinMA). The functionality of the RDs was tested in mixtures with a methacrylated rapeseed oil (MRO) system. The work emphasizes sustainability and a more efficient synthesis using an accessible catalyst, potassium acetate, which is cheaper and less hazardous compared to the commonly used 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP). In addition, a secondary product, methacrylic acid, was isolated and subsequently used for the preparation of MRO, thereby reducing the total waste generated. The synthesized products were structurally confirmed by NMR, ESI-MS, and FTIR. After studying their rheological behaviour, mixtures containing 74 wt.% MRO, 25 wt.% RD and 1 wt.% BAPO were prepared. Test specimens were produced via mSLA and analysed by DMA, TGA, tensile, and flexural testing. The results show that CinMA exhibits viscosity-modifying performance comparable to the commercially available and widely used isobornyl methacrylate (IBOMA). Compared to the optimal RD (CinMA), VanMA and VanDiMA achieve superior thermomechanical and mechanical properties, higher thermal stability, and nearly negligible volatility. The MRO/VanDiMA mixture reached a tensile strength of 12.7 ± 0.3 MPa (11.2 ± 0.4 MPa), a flexural strength of 16.0 ± 1.8 MPa (11.4 ± 0.2 MPa), a glass transition temperature of 84 °C (60 °C), and a thermal stability index of 169 °C (164 °C).

Diplomant při obhajobě práce Syntéza a charakterizace reaktivních prekurzorů z přírodních zdrojů pro SLA 3D tisk nejdříve charakterizoval cíle své práce a její aplikační potenciál. Následně popsal vstupní reaktanty, jejich syntézu, určení potenciálního bio obsahu a charakterizaci vzniklých produktů. Poté popsal zjištěné mechanické vlastnosti, těkavost a viskozitu.
