This diploma thesis focuses on the thermodynamic characterization of the adsorption of inorganic (lead ions) and organic (methylene blue) pollutants onto selected adsorbents (activated carbon, bentonite, kaolinite, plant-based activated carbon Carbofit). The main objective of the thesis is the quantification of energetic effects at the phase interface using isothermal microcalorimetry (specifically the Sol-Cal technique) and their correlation with mathematical models (Freundlich and Langmuir). Activated carbon was chosen as the initial material. After experiments surprisingly demonstrated its almost zero adsorption capacity and affinity for lead ions, the research was expanded to include other types of adsorbent materials. In this phase, bentonite proved to be a highly effective and versatile adsorbent. Furthermore, direct microcalorimetric measurements demonstrated strongly exothermic chemisorption during the adsorption of methylene blue onto the plant-based activated carbon Carbofit. The results also indicate that the adsorption of methylene blue was more efficient at higher temperature. In terms of industrial application in water treatment facilities, these findings facilitate the rational design of adsorption units, particularly concerning the impact of temperature fluctuations. Precise knowledge of the enthalpy allows predicting the energy demands of the process for individual adsorbents; by subsequent comparison with adsorption efficiency, the most effective adsorbent for a given pollutant can be selected. The results can thus provide a tool for minimizing material costs and enhancing pollutant separation in real industrial technologies.

Byly vidět rozdíly i vizuálně? Obruča: Jak je práce spojená s medicínskými aplikacemi? Kozáková: Čím se lišily jednotlivé vzorky methylenové modři a kolikrát se experiment opakoval? Dzik: Pozoroval jste nějaké problematické chování methylenové modři?
