Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the analysis of traffic accidents involving pedestrians and cyclists
in the Czech Republic during the period 2017–2024. The aim of the thesis is to identify
the main causes and factors influencing the occurrence and severity of traffic accidents
affecting these vulnerable road users, to evaluate their social and economic impacts, and
to propose measures aimed at improving road safety. The thesis is based on a detailed
analysis of statistical data concerning traffic accidents, including their location,
temporal distribution, age structure of participants, and severity of consequences. An
important part of the thesis is the estimation of social costs associated with traffic
accidents and the design of a specific engineering solution for a selected hazardous
location in the city of Brno. The results confirm the importance of systematic preventive
measures, traffic calming, and the development of safe infrastructure for pedestrians and
cyclists.

Během své prezentace s názvem Analýza dopravní nehodovosti cyklistů a chodců student pohovořil o zvoleném období pro zvolenou analýzu nehodovosti v ČR a o nejčastějších příčinách a následcích. Dále student pohovořil o celospolečenských nákladech a o obecných návrzích opatření pro chodce a cyklisty. Následně student představil konkrétní návrh opatření. Následovaly dotazy oponenta práce doc. Ing. Michala Radimského, Ph.D.: 1. Doporučil byste uzákonit povinnou přilbu na kole pro všechny? 2. Proč jste v projektu nenavrhl přímý chodník od zastávky k poliklinice? 3. Šlo by v návrhu křižovatky nějak zohlednit cyklisty? Student na otázky odpověděl. Následovaly dotazy členů komise: doc. Ing. Zita Prostějovská, Ph.D. položila otázku: Proč značíte různé proměnné stejnou barvou? Ing. Richard Svoboda, Ph.D. položil otázku: Měl jste data k určené lokalitě? Mohl byste k jednotlivých kategoriím nehod říci i příslušná opatření? Student na otázky odpověděl.
