The master's thesis is dedicated to the proposal for the reconstruction of the existing intersection of Řečkovická and Hradecká streets in Brno, which is currently assessed as unclear and unsuitable for traffic.
The aim of the work is to propose a conceptual solution in the form of a roundabout, which will ensure natural traffic calming and clear direction of all traffic flows. The work includes a directional traffic survey, accident analysis and capacity assessment of the selected variant for the current period and a prospective forecast. The proposal emphasizes minimal interventions into the body of the existing ramps of the interchange and the modification of existing unsuitable pedestrian routes.
Of all the variants, variant 1.c was selected due to the highest number of advantages among all variants and it met the most specified main objectives. This variant ensures smooth crossing and passage through the given area.
