The subject of this master’s thesis is the design of a new Sports Badminton Center, including the development of detailed construction documentation and the creation of IFC models as part of team collaboration within a BIM environment. The Sports Badminton Center in Čestlice is located on the eastern side of the municipality of Čestlice, just beyond the cadastral boundary of the Capital City of Prague. The building is situated in a development zone designated for public amenities – sport facilities. It consists of two main structures, the “Hall” and the “Facilities” building, oriented perpendicularly and interconnected in terms of both massing and function. The sports center is set into gently sloping terrain. The “Facilities” building has three above-ground floors and one underground level, while the “Hall” is a single-storey structure. The roofs are designed as flat with membrane waterproofing. The center comprises a badminton hall with two spectator stands, a fitness studio, a physiotherapy office, a relaxation zone with a sauna and whirlpool, a reception area with coffee service, accommodation facilities (both long-term and short-term), and parking areas. The stands are directly connected to a catering facility. The building is intended for both commercial and private use. In a combined operational mode, it is designed to provide facilities for the national badminton team as well as commercial visitors of the hall and the fitness studio. The building is designed as a nearly zero-energy building, complying with a low-energy standard. All areas are accessible for persons with reduced mobility and orientation. The structural system of the “Facilities” building is a combined monolithic reinforced concrete frame. The 300 mm thick exterior walls are insulated with an ETICS system consisting of 200 mm mineral wool boards. Horizontal structures, stiffening elements, and the core are made of reinforced concrete with variable thicknesses. The flat roof is designed with a green roof system. The “Facilities” building is founded on a raft slab in a white-tank waterproofing system. The structural system of the “Hall” consists of prefabricated reinforced concrete elements with an envelope made of sandwich panels. The flat roof is designed with parapets and drained using a siphonic system. The hall is founded on piles with footings. The site includes newly designed utility connections: low-voltage electricity, telecommunications, water supply, and sewerage. Stormwater management and landscaping are also integrated within the investor’s plot. Parking is divided into private and public zones. In the underground floor, accessible via a dedicated driveway from Mullerova Street, spaces are provided for long-term residents and employees. Outdoor parking in front of the building, accessed from K Hřišti Street, is reserved for the public.
