The Diploma thesis deals with the use of recycled brick materials as a substitute for the natural aggregates. The topic addresses the concurrent demand for sustainability in construction, which focuses on effective management of construction and demolition waste and on saving primary natural resources in response to their depletion as a result of continuous mining. In the theoretical part, legislation and theory related to the issue are discussed. The experimental part is then focused on examination of the properties of the brick recycled aggregates in respect to their utilization in concrete. The main objective of the experiments is to propose concrete mixes with partial or total substitution of natural aggregate by recycled brick aggregate, followed by testing of the properties of these concretes and evaluating their potential for practical use in construction. The experimental part establishes the limits of applicability of recycled brick aggregates in concrete in terms of achievable strength classes and exposure classes, depending on the amount and quality of the incorporated recycled brick aggregate.

Studentka představila komisi formou prezentace svoji diplomovou práci a reagovala na připomínky a dotazy od oponenta vyjádřené v oponentském posudku i na otázky členů komise. Během obhajoby položili členové komise následující otázky: Ing. Karel Nosek, Ph.D. – Hlavní důvod využití recyklátu je jaký? Je tam i nějaké ekonomické hledisko? Nebylo by lepší využívat směsný cement? Ing. Martin Luňáček, Ph.D. – Co se musí legislativně změnit pro širší použití recyklátu? Máme nějaký předpis který povoluje použití recyklátu v betonu? prof. Ing. Rostislav Drochytka, CSc., MBA, dr. h. c. - Je v cihelném recyklátu problém s omítkami? Jak se to řeší? Jak se provádí odhlinění? Otázka nasákavosti - není moc velká u recyklátů? Jak probíhá předvlhčení? prof. Ing. Rudolf Hela, CSc. – Do srpna bude nová česká norma s novými recyklovatelnými kamenivy. doc. Ing. Karel Dvořák, Ph.D. – Co je to Rebetong? Je to tak úžasné jak se uvádí? Studentka výborně reagovala a zaujímala svoje stanovisko ke všem připomínkám k předložené DP od oponenta i členů komise.
