Abstract:

The subject of this master´s thesis is the design of an arch pedestrian footbridge. Three alternative solutions for spanning the given area were developed and evaluated, from which was one option selected for detailed design. The chosen solution is a stress ribbon supported by a steel arch. The global structural analysis model was created as a beam model in the software Ansys APDL 2024 R2. A slab model for an evaluation of the structure in cross direction was created in SCIA Engineer. The structure was evaluated for the ultimate limit state and the ultimate limit state in accordance with applicable standards. A dynamic analysis of the structure is also included. The thesis is complemented by drawings of the structural design, the construction procedure and illustrative visualizations of the structure.
