This bachelor’s thesis deals with the development and implementation of a final solution for a running optical barrier. The optical barrier is unique due to its use of a multi-beam configuration and high-speed evaluation. The theoretical introduction focuses on the physical principles of the electro-optical components used and the main tenets of object detection using optical signals. The practical part includes the design process, testing of electro-optical components, a description of the final solution, the software part, and the mechanical implementation. The final section of the thesis deals with the verification of the speed parameters of the optical barrier and suggestions for improvements.
