The thesis addresses the aging of technical equipment, its progression, and manifestations through degradation mechanisms such as corrosion, erosion, fatigue, and technological obsolescence. The theoretical part also includes an overview of selected industrial accidents where aging played a key or contributing role. The practical section focuses on the application of the Hungarian aging assessment methodology in an operational steam boiler facility with two gas-fired steam boilers. The audit involved evaluation based on documentation, operational data, and non-destructive testing. The results include the classification of the technical condition of both boilers and a set of recommended measures. The thesis concludes with a techno-economic assessment of potential boiler plant downtime and a comparison of two replacement options for the aging VSP 2.5 boiler with more modern equipment.

Študent komisii prezentuje tému svojej práce, rozoberá jej ciele. Nadväzuje svojím riešením, prezentovaním výsledkov a vyvodením záverov. Následne sú prečítané posudky vedúceho práce a oponenta. Študent odpovedá na otázky oponenta. Prebieha diskusia a študent odpovedá na položené otázky: Akým spôsobom sa pri audite overuje stav korózie kotlov? Zodpovedanie otázky: čiastočne.
