Abstract:

The master‘s thesis deals with the design of furniture that serves to connect interiors with nature, especially with plants. At a time when many of us spend most of our time indoors, there is a growing desire to incorporate nature into our homes and workspaces. This thesis analyses historical and contemporary trends in the design of furniture intended for plants and highlights the possibilities for their further development. The aim is to identify and overcome the existing shortcomings in current solutions and, based on this analysis, to propose an innovative prototype that better
meets the current needs and aesthetic preferences of users.

Process of defence

Obhajoba začíná prezentací DP – stojan na pokojové květiny. Studentka popisuje svůj desigský záměr, inspirace, motivace, výběr materiálu, průběh navrhování a představuje finální prototyp. Obhajoba pokračuje čtením posudku vedoucího práce, ve kterém vedoucí vyzdvihuje systematický pracovní postup, dobrý time management, komplexnost studentky. Následuje čtení pozitivního posudku oponentky. Dotazy míří na cílenou inovativnost, výslednou stabilitu a spolupráci s firmou. Studentka následně odpovídá. Navazuje diskuze s komisí nad konstrukčním řešením nosných ploch stojanu, ne/modularitou a subtilitou prototypu. Komise vyzdvihuje velmi kvalitní vizuální prezentaci celého procesu práce. Studentka byla schopna věcně a pohotově argumentovat.
