Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the use of rejuvenating additives in asphalt mixtures with reclaimed asphalt pavement. The theoretical part describes methods of adding reclaimed asphalt pavement to new asphalt mixtures. There are also explained principles of tests on asphalt binder: needle penetration, softening point, dynamic shear rheometer (DSR), bending beam rheometer (BBR) and short-therm aging of asphalt binders by the RTFOT method. The practical part of the thesis explains procedures of adding rejuvenating additives to asphalt mixtures in laboratory conditions. In the practical part are also evaluated results of tests on asphalt binder.

Keywords:

asphalt binder, RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement), ageing of bitumen binder, rejuvenator, needle penetration, softening point, dynamic shear rheometer, bending beam rheometer
