Production Control

Theoretical access to production planning and control. Information necessary for economical decision about production program with regard to customer requirements. Methodology of production systems projects, which are able to qualitatively and economically realize production program with progressive technology.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

After finishing the module students should:
Know the fundamentals, philosophy and aims of production management. Fully understand strategic, tactical and operative production management practices. Be able to control the whole course of order in production. Be able to apply process management in production processes. Operate industrial production systems with the support of information technologies and undestand these technologies.

Prerequisites

The subject knowledge on the Bachelor´s degree level is requested.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Assessment comprises of three parts:
- evaluation of a case study based on work done in the laboratory
- written test
- interview with the lecturer

The contents of production management,
the aims of production management,
position of production in the system of company management,
production management hierarchy,
strategic management of production, tactical management of production,
operative management of production,
production system - division of types,
standardization and the information base, marketing and production, operative production management principles,
operative planning, operative production evidence,
production process management, managements of change,
the ways of production setup in time and space,
some other systems applied in production management, production and quality management, new ways in production management.

Aims

The subject concentrates on the area of production process management in all kinds of industry. The main objective is to gain abilities in tactical, technical and organizational management, learn concepts, models and management techniques. Attetion is also devoted to terminology and methodology of input, transformation and output elements of the production processes. Techniques of production resources usage in fast developing market relationships conditions and the ways of economic utiliyation of labor force in production are introduced.
