Studio control desk, its main parts, description of operation. General properties of acoustic signals and their transformation. Peripherals of studio control desk, effect tools for digital signal processing. Electronic devices used in the production of musical recordings. Basics of music acoustics, tuning, creation of primary actave. Music synthesis, principles, history. Analog, analog-digital and digital synthesizers, types of synthesis. MIDI communication system. Visualisation of acoustic signals. Multichannel sound systems. Digital audio interfaces, synchronization protocols. Computer aided processing of acoustic signals, hard disc recording.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- Lectures provide the explanation of basic principles, subject methodology, examples of problems and their solutions.
- Laboratory exercises support practical acquiring of themes presented at lectures. Active participation of students is needed.
