Network layer and routing. Connection and Non connection oiented systems. Tranport, session, prezentation and aplication layer.
PrincipleTypes and topologie of LAN, internetworking of computer. Repeaters, Bridge, routers and Gateway.
The protocols TCP, UDP and IP.
Signaling system in telephone network.ISDN, Frame relay, ATM.
Voice communication over data network (SIP and protocol set H.323).
Management of networks, SNMP and MIB.

Students shall be acquired fundamental knowledge about the structure of communication network used for transmission of calling, data and pictures and technology of transmission information in them used.

The purposes of subject is acquaint students with fundamental types and structure communication networks designated for transmission calling, data and picture and technology of transmission information in them used.

Network Goals. Topology and network structure. Transfer mode. The layer theory and primitive operations.
Data communication. The open system archtecture, the ISO reference model, Public data networks (PDN).
The physical layer. Recomandation ITU V, X and I. The medium characteristics. The signal adaptation to medium.
The data link layer protocols. Error correction and error detection codes. Transparency. Numbering of frame. Configuration of station. The BSC and HDLC Protocol.
The network layer. Routing algorithms, virtual connection and logical channel, flow control, type of packets. X.25 structure. The transport and session layer. PAD.
The presentation and application layer. Data type prepresentation, data compression, authentication and digital signature. Local networks – types and topology. Repeaters, bridges, routers, gates.
Computer communication architectures for TCP/IP protocols. Internet.
Speech communication - Public switched telephone network (PSTN). The fundamental of telephone exchange (SPC) and transmission systems (SDH a PDH). Time division multiplex (TDM). Interface E1..
Integrated services of digital networks - ISDN. The based of characteristics, protocols, accesses and interface standard. ISDN user solution. Broadband ISDN. Metropolitan networks.
The modem networks, synchronnous and statistical multiplexors. Frame relay, cell relay, asynchronnous transfer mode - ATM. ATM structure and transfer protocols.
The distributed aplication. Electronic mail and its structure. The directory services. Infrastructure and network management. Protocol SNMPv2. Signaling systems (CCS7). Telecommunication network management (TMN).
Wireless and mobile networks. Analog. system NMT and digit. system GSM. Routing in mobile networks. Radio trunk systems.
Principle of control network systems. Communications in control systems. Operating systems.

Syllabus

Description of telephone exchange EWSD.
Telephone characteristics point of view theory of finite state machine.
Functional description of telephone exchange EWSD by message sequentional charts (MSC).
System design tool Telelogic Tau - version SDT SDL 4,6 (graphical editor and simulation in SDL)
Design document structure of EWSD on the system level. Structure of processes inside in blocks LTG and communication beetwen them. Definition of messages and processes. Creation and Ending of processes. Working with the process identificator. Communication between non directly connected neighbours. Definition of DLU internal structure, design of DLU.
The problem Client-Server. Assignement and releasing shared means for processes. The definition of internal structure of coordination process. Type of communication "common fond of information".
