Course detail
Metal and Wood Materials
FAST-BJ08Acad. year: 2009/2010
The aim of the subject is to inform the students about metallic and wooden materials, their
properties and utilization partly in construction, partly individually considering the physico- mechanical properties and their testing. The student is informed about structural differences and diversities , shape dimensions and variety of these materials. The student wins a clear view about the basic physico-mechanical properties of wood, wood malefactors, the wood advantages and disadvantages, he is made familiar with individual wood species, wood protection, wood products and the testing of them. In the case of metals he will be made familiar with the properties and utilization of ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals and alloys, with the utilization, corrosion protection and testing.
