Engineering and Environmental Engineering

Optional subject "Building and Environmental Engineering" builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in a bachelor program in the subjects of building construction, building and construction projects. It will deepen the knowledge of design and architecture structures with respect for environmental contexts that influence the ongoing transformation of the environment. Account will be linked to characterize the contemporary era. Especially the ongoing global climate change, drawing on non-renewable energy resources and their replacement.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Course curriculum

Lectures: Presentation of the lessons learned from the field of scientific research and their implementation in architectural theory and creation. Focus will include performances of mutual relations and ties that arise by interaction of architecture and the environment. An important part of teaching is determined by the position that these processes plays engineer architect.
Events: Individual work with students and development of knowledge and information seminar will be conducted form. Students will be encouraged to separate activities which certifies the level of acquired knowledge base.

Aims

Optional subject "Building and Environmental Engineering" builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in a bachelor program in the subjects of building construction, technical building equipment and construction projects. It occurs in a deepening knowledge of the design architecture and building construction with respect of environmental contexts that affect the ongoing changes in the environment. Be taken into account continuity that characterize the current epoch. In particular, the ongoing global climate change, drawing on non-renewable energy sources and to replace them.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Teaching takes place in semester cycle of lectures and seminars. The workshops will be required active work students. The chosen form will be delivered and written papers.
Of the total extent of 13 teaching weeks, students will have an obligation to actively participate in at least 10 teaching units.
