Computer Technology I - Computer Aided Architectural Design

The subject's purpose is to impart to the students fundamental information on computer art. In the framework of this subject, the students complete their secondary school knowledge of hardware and software, get additional information on communication and information retrieval, and extend their ability to make use of the office software. All is taken into account in the work with graphic data. Provided is basic information on graphic vector editors and their use in architectural practice.

Course curriculum

Lecture: Computer networks and Internet, bearing on architectural office, computer support at sheet. drafting
Lecture: Bases 2D computer graphic designer, sizes data and their usage
Lecture: Bases 3D computer graphic designer, sizes data, show body
Lecture: Imagery 3D data, projection, light, shadows, fabric, imaging method
Lecture: Colour in computer. Repair colours CMS. Digital photograph
Lecture: Facilities for computer graphic art, basic user's survey, their role at realization sheet. projects
Lecture: Modern systems CAAD, survey used systems, benefits disavantages, usage.
Laboratory: Work on faculty computer networks, in net VUT, accessible services, Internet, electronic mail, source of information.
Laboratory: Processing text documentation to project – Word (processing extensive documents)
Laboratory: Processing text documentation to project – excellency (calculations, graphs)
Laboratory: Preparation visual data – scanning, digital photograph
Laboratory:: Processing visual data – PhotoShop, Illustrator (bases work)
Llaboratory: Processing presentation sheet. project – PowerPoint, Internet
Llaboratory:: Modern systems CAAD – autocad, ADT, SEE, MicroStation, ArchiCAD (exhibits programme equipment faculty)

In the framework of this subject, the students complete their secondary school knowledge of hardware and software, get additional information on communication and information retrieval, and extend their ability to make use of the office software for work with graphic data. They gain basic information on computer graphics used in architectural practice.
