Bachelor Seminar (K-GTN)

The seminar is aimed at preliminary work and completion of bachelor project.
Choice of basic geotechnical and structural parameters in relation to specific themes of bachelor project.
Requirements for the preparation of the thesis.

Entry knowledge

Types of foundation soils, properties of soils, limit states theory, foundation structures, underground structures, earth structures, basic principles of structural mechanics, theory of strength and elasticity, structure design of steel and concrete.

Aims

Professional Knowledge

  • During the course the student learn to use theoretical knowledge obtained in previous ages for solution of basic geotechnical problems.

Professional Skills

  • The student will be able to solve complex basic geotechnical tasks including analysis of the problem, educational literature and standards, making of geotechnical profile, input geotechnical data, computation model, analysis of results.

Professional Competence

  • The student will be able to create safe and economical design of building foundations in various geotechnical conditions, including the choice of the optimal technological procedure.
