The course provides an introduction to and practical experience of the basic procedures and methods for working with an idea, verification of the commercial potential of the idea in the market, creation of a business model, financial management of the project, presentation skills needed to present the idea, financing options and implementation of a business plan, as well as an introduction to the legal minimum for entrepreneurship.The output will be concrete business plans on which students will learn to apply basic methods and procedures. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, active student involvement and interactive and hands-on learning with extensive involvement of practitioners as trainers and experts giving feedback on the projects.
Learning outcomes and competencies: Knowledge of business plan implementation procedures and methods. Ability to validate an idea in the marketplace. Mastery of Lean startup principles in project management. Ability to create a cash flow plan for a project Knowledge of and ability to apply methods of analyzing competitors and market situations Methods of presenting a business plan to investors Experience in reworking an idea into a viable business Knowledge of methods of commercializing science and research
Teaching Methods:Interactive lectures and exercises, project-based learning, self-study, teamwork on projects.Active involvement of practitioners in teaching - JIC experts and other external collaborators. Involvement of practitioners is at least 50% of the scope.
