Business Idea Development and Realization 2

The course provides an introduction to and practical testing of basic procedures and methods for practical start-up of a business in the form of practical workshops on individual topics.

The output will be specific documents - marketing, business, HR, knowledge transfer and others. In their creation and use, students will learn to apply basic methods and procedures. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, active involvement of students and interactive and practical teaching with extensive involvement of practitioners as lecturers and experts giving feedback on the processed outputs.

Learning outcomes and competences:

- Knowledge of marketing and business communication practices and methods.

- Ability to create communication materials

- Ability to compile basic business documentation (terms and conditions, contracts).

- Ability to compile and manage the cash flow of a business project.

- Knowledge and ability to apply methods of analyzing competition and market situation

- Methods of presenting the offered product to customers

- Knowledge of methods of commercialisation of science and research

 


Teaching methods:

Interactive workshops focused on particular topics, project-based learning, self-study, teamwork on projects.

Active involvement of practitioners in teaching - JIC experts and other external collaborators. Involvement of practitioners is at least 50% of the scope. The scope of independent team work outside direct teaching is min. 30 hours.

Definition of supervised teaching and the way of its implementation and forms of substitution of missed teaching:

Exercises: supervised partial outputs of teamwork by teachers.

Prerequisites: completion of RRPN 1 or preparation of a basic business plan in the form of Lean CANVAS.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Course completion rules:

A student may receive up to 100 points in total as follows:

1.

- The student may receive up to 10 points for one assignment within a module and its processing, depending on the quality of the processing

2. Presentation and defense of the final output in the form of a modified Lean canvas based on the individual modules

- here the student can receive up to 50 points depending on the level of the final Lean Canvas

The sum of points for both outputs can be up to 100 points. A minimum of 50 points is required to pass the course with credit.

Aims

It is a continuation of the course Business Idea Development and Implementation 1 and focuses primarily on the implementation phase of starting a business. In order to successfully complete the course, participants need to have a well-developed basic business plan at least in the form of Lean CANVAS at entry.
