FAST-VYI001Acad. year: 2026/2027
In the first lesson of the course, students will realize which Italian words they already know. They will try to read and pronounce the names of Italian regions and cities. Furthermore, they will learn the basics of pronunciation and how to count from 0 to 1000. They will be able to introduce themselves, state their age, and talk about their hobbies. They will learn how to order in a restaurant and a bar, and describe objects around them. They will be able to converse about their family and will become familiar with vocabulary related to the world of work. They will also be able to ask and answer basic small talk questions.
In grammar, they will work with regular verbs (all 3 conjugations) in the present tense and basic irregular verbs (avere, essere, andare, fare). They will learn the system of adjectives and their masculine and feminine endings. They will be introduced to the indefinite and definite articles and will learn how to form the plural of the definite article, nouns, and adjectives.
The course focuses on speaking and reacting in natural, everyday situations. Work is done primarily in pairs and small groups. Lessons include listening activities, songs, videos, and games.
