The aim of the course is to develop students' Russian vocabulary and grammar at the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The course also develops the skills required to read, translate, and produce moderately complex texts in Russian.
Topics: meeting friends; physical appearance; the human body; clothes; letter writing; personality; seasons; weather; time; dates.
Grammar: constructions different from Czech; verb conjugation; declension of adjectives; dates; substantivised adjectives; pronouns; expressions meaning "it is necessary" and "one must"; years; telling the time; expressions of approximation.

Students are expected to have a good command of the Russian Cyrillic alphabet, vocabulary, and conversational skills related to the following topics: introducing oneself; telephone conversations; nationalities; visiting people; family; occupations; leisure time; hobbies; school; getting around the city; means of transport; shopping.
Students are expected to have knowledge of the following grammar: numbers; verb conjugation; reflexive verbs; the infinitive; declension of nouns and pronouns; animate and inanimate nouns; indeclinable nouns; prepositional constructions; dates; the past tense; formal and informal forms of address.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
The scope of supervised instruction and the method of its implementation are defined by an annually updated directive issued by the course guarantor.
