Four elective courses — VYR001, VYR002, VYR003, and VYR004 — are offered in connection with this subject, in which students acquire the required knowledge and skills. The content of the exam is based on the textbooks Raduga po novomu 1–3. The exam consists of a written test that assesses knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, reading comprehension, and the ability to write a short text in Russian. The time allotted for the exam is 2 hours.

Students are expected to have mastered the grammar and vocabulary covered in the Raduga po novomu 1–3 coursebooks as preparation for the examination. Their Russian language skills should correspond to the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Grammar: numbers; verb conjugation; reflexive verbs; the infinitive; declension of nouns, adjectives, and pronouns; animate and inanimate nouns; indeclinable nouns; prepositional constructions; dates; the past tense; formal and informal forms of address; substantivised adjectives; expressions of approximation.
Vocabulary: introducing oneself; telephone conversations; nationalities; visiting people; family; occupations; leisure time; hobbies and interests; school; getting around the city; means of transport; shopping; meeting friends; physical appearance; the human body; clothes; personality; seasons; weather.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
The scope of supervised instruction and the method of its implementation are defined by an annually updated directive issued by the course guarantor.
Aims
This examination corresponds to the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). It assesses whether students have acquired the basic vocabulary and grammar of general Russian required at this level.
