Learning outcomes of the course unit subject will be familiarized with basic technical principles of design of measurement and regulation systems for operation of residential and civil engineering buildings. It will provide a basic overview of the current systems of methods and principles of control systems. The course presents the basics of measurement of physical quantities and their subsequent use for regulation of ventilation, cooling and heating systems.

Aims
Professional Knowledge
The student understands the principles of measurement and control of heating, ventilation and cooling systems, the functions of sensors, controllers and actuators, and the basic principles of preparing measurement and control diagrams.
Professional Skills
The student is able to design a basic measurement and control system, select suitable measuring and control components, prepare a functional diagram and description, and assess basic requirements for system operation and maintenance.
Professional Competence
The student is able to apply the principles of measurement and control in the design and operation of building services systems and professionally assess their basic functionality.
