Department
Entry knowledge
Knowledge of basic physical quantities, basic knowledge of thermal technical properties of building structures, basic knowledge of building physics and thermomechanics
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
Aims
Professional Knowledge
The student understands the principles of thermal and moisture conditions in buildings, heat transfer and the operation of heating systems. The student understands the basic types of heating systems, heat sources, boiler rooms and substations, as well as the possibilities of using renewable and alternative energy sources.
Professional Skills
The student is able to determine the heating load of a building, design heating surfaces, heat sources and basic components of heating systems, and perform their sizing. The student is able to develop a heating concept in relation to the building's layout and structural design.
Professional Competence
The student is able to independently design a standard heating system for a building and coordinate it with the structural and layout design and indoor environmental requirements.
