The course develops advanced English language skills at C1 level using a communicative approach in authentic contexts. It focuses on strengthening vocabulary, improving grammatical accuracy and enhancing fluency. The course encourages independent and confident language use in personal, academic and professional settings.

The minimum entry requirement is very good knowledge of B2 grammar and vocabulary.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Students‘ assessment is carried out based on the attendance record and participation in classroom discussions. Therefore, regular attendance and active participation in class are prerequisites for successfully obtaining the course-unit credit.
The exam is written and spoken. The written test assesses knowledge of the grammatical structures covered in the course, while the spoken part evaluates language proficiency and the ability to actively use the skills developed during the course.
Attendance at seminars is compulsory and is systematically checked by the teacher. Students are allowed to miss two seminars. In well-founded cases, extra absences can be made up for after consulting the situation with the teacher.
Aims
The aim of the crouse it to reinforce individual abilities of students to express themselves in English. The previously gained knowledge of grammar and vocabulary will be revised and systematically expanded in real contexts.
After passing this course students should be able to communicate in English independently at C1 level. The knowledge and skills gained should contribute to more fluent speaking and communication in personal, academic as well as professional environments. The course can also be used as preparation for international English language exams.
