Advanced ceramics technologies

The course covers the basics of advanced bulk polycrystalline ceramics technology. Emphasis is placed on the principles of the technologies and the resulting advantages and limitations of individual methods. The technological overview also includes modern methods such as additive manufacturing and CNC machining of ceramic semi-finished products.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The course is completed by the oral doctoral exam. Knowledge of technological procedures for selected ceramic parts is verified.

Aims

The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic overview of advanced ceramic technologies, including the latest trends in the preparation of bulk polycrystalline ceramics. The course aims to help students understand the principles of individual methods, their advantages and limitations.
Graduates of the course will be able to analyze the technological requirements of individual ceramic parts and select the appropriate processing method for a given application.
