Aims

Professional knowledge and skills
  • The importance of geodesy in civil engineering.
  • Coordinate systems, reference frames and height systems in the Czech Republic and the EU.
  • Angular, longitudinal, height measurements, geodetic calculations.
  • Global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).
  • Methods of spatial geodetic,data collection , GNSS, ground and aerial laser scanning, mobile mapping systems.
  • Building layout, control measurements, determination of displacements and deformations, special surveying work.
  • State cadastre information system and obtaining information from it.
  • Cartography, state maps, geographic information systems (GIS), building information model (BIM).

Syllabus

  1. The role of geodesy in civil engineering. History. The shape and dimensions of the Earth, reference surfaces. Units.
  2. Geodetic positional control. Angular and distance measurements. Coordinate systems and reference frames. Basic coordinate calculations.
  3. Geodetic height systems. Methods of height measurement. Digital terrain model.
  4. Global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), use in geodesy, control of construction machines.
  5. Methods of 3D data collection - polar method, orthogonal methods, GNSS-RTK.
  6. Photogrammetry and remote sensing.
  7. Ground and aerial laser scanning, mobile mapping systems.
  8. Geodetic works in project preparation. Staking out works. Check and compliance surveys. Passporting of buildings.
  9. Determination of displacements and deformations of buildings.
  10. Geodesy in transport construction, in the construction of tunnels and bridges. Special work in industry. Determination of areas and cubic volumes.
  11. State cadastre information system (SCIS). Implementation of changes in SCIS, geometric plan, delineation of land boundaries. Viewing the SCIS. ČÚZK.
  12. Basics of cartography. Map works in the Czech Republic.
  13. Geographic information systems, building information model. Examples of solving specific geodetic problems.

Syllabus

  1. Bindinggeodetic reference systems in the Czech Republic. 3Dcoordinatesystems, GNSS satellitesystems. Basic coordinatecalculations, bearing,length, calculationofareas andcubiccapacity.
  2. Measurement and setting out of elevations - horizontality, flatness, geometric leveling, building lasers.
  3. Measurement and setting out of horizontal and vertical angles - verticality, shape, straightness, optical centration and horizontalization of apparatuses, theodolite.
  4. Measurement and setting of distances – dimension, laser measuring apparatures, electronic universal measuring stations.
  5. State cadastre information system,
  6. Geodetic data for the project - geodata for BIM, terrestrial laser scanning. Georeferenced data environment (CDE).
