Entry knowledge

Students should have a good command of the Russian alphabet, vocabulary, and conversation on the following topics: introductions, phone conversations, nationalities, visiting someone, family, occupations, leisure time, hobbies, and school.

They should also master the following grammar topics: numerals, verb conjugation, reflexive verbs, declension of nouns and pronouns, dates, past tense, and formal address.

 

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

The scope of supervised instruction and the method of its implementation are defined by an annually updated directive issued by the course guarantor. 

Aims

The aim of the course is to achieve a pre-intermediate level in Russian vocabulary and grammar, as well as the student’s ability to read, translate, and produce moderately complex Russian texts. The student will meet the course objectives if they reach a pre-intermediate level in Russian vocabulary and grammar and are able to read, translate, and create moderately complex Russian texts.
