Course detail
Metrology Legal and Industrial
FSI-9MLVAcad. year: 2025/2026
The course focuses on the mastery of metrology in industrial enterprises, with emphasis on the functional control of products and the organisational and technical design of control processes. Students will learn the principles of calibration and verification of various types of measuring instruments. Students will also understand the rules for measuring and evaluating sizes and distances of industrial products, measuring and evaluating deviations in form, orientation, location, run-out and texture evaluation of functional surfaces. Students will be able to formulate requirements for gauges in specific applications and the criteria for evaluating the performance of test and calibration laboratories in industry.

Entry knowledge
Knowledge of the fundamentals of metrology, engineering and materials is assumed, as is knowledge of physics and applied statistics.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Examination in the area of the problem according to the syllabus and its application in the semester work.
The course is conducted in the form of lectures and consultations, with controlled participation.
Aims
The aim of the subject “Metrology Legal and Industrial “ is the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge of legal and industrial metrology in a way, that enables the PhD students to independently solve scientific tasks in the area.
The student will gain extensive and complex knowledge of legal and industrial metrology, which will enable them to solve related problems in industrial practice with erudition.
