The course focuses on the fundamentals of typography, text layout, and graphic design of printed materials, with practical use of the professional layout tool Adobe InDesign CC. Students will gain an understanding of the complex issues of desktop publishing, including working with typefaces, graphic elements, images, and proper document preparation for both print and digital outputs. The course includes preparation of materials for various types of printing: digital printing, risograph, screen printing, or offset printing. It develops both the technical and aesthetic skills necessary for creating high-quality printed materials. Depending on the subject matter, the course alternates between lectures, presentations, and practical exercises.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
A prerequisite for receiving credit is attendance in class. Up to two unexcused absences are tolerated. Another requirement for passing the course is the submission of a final project (such as a personal portfolio, magazine, book, or zine), the specifics of which will be determined at the end of the semester based on the individual creative interests of the students.
Aims
The aim of the course is to develop students' skills in text layout and to teach them how to effectively use Adobe InDesign for professional outcomes in design or artistic practice.
