In this course the students are introduced to the basic principles of Czech grammar and pronunciation, build vocabulary in several important areas (university life, city life, transportation, food, family, everyday activities) and learn common social expressions. Learning about Czech culture in the broadest sense presents another important part of this course.

Entry knowledge
No knowledge of the Czech language is required. The course is not available to students with Slovak as their first language.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
75% active attendance and passing the written exam at the end of the semester are required for a successful completion of the course.
