The course will provide knowledge of green chemistry issues, a modern perspective on the use of specific procedures that lead to a reduction in environmental burden and more efficient chemical processes. 1.–2. Principles of green chemistry 3. Basic concepts, principles and strategies 4.–5. Ionic liquids 6. Green solvents 7. Green chemistry and pollutants 8. (Bio)catalysis and biomaterials 9.–10. Industrial examples 11. Designing greener processes 12. Chemical evaluation, GHS vs. ecotoxicology 13. Green chemistry project – independent work

Aims

The students understand the principles of green chemistry. The students are familiar with the process of scientific work in the field of green chemistry and are able to derive research-oriented experiments from hypotheses, to develop and to carry out the core points of scientific articles and to elaborate them in hypothesis-controlled experiments in the field.
Students will understand modern green renewable technologies as a potential energy source for future.
