Course detail
Satellite Control and Management
FEKT-MPA-SCMAcad. year: 2023/2024
The course is focused on understanding the satellite communication in comparison with terrestrial radio systems. Within the course, key aspects of signal transmission by both types of systems are presented, their different properties and requirements are pointed out. For satellite links, satellite orbits, their properties, and the method of calculating the position prediction are also discussed. The basic components and structure of a communication satellite are briefly described. Examples of both terrestrial links and examples of various fixed and mobile service satellite communication systems, including satellite navigation systems, are given. Attention is also focused on the evaluation of the energy balance of the satellite link.
