Research Project and Its Management

The course will provide students a systematic introduction to the preparation of their own research project. Students will learn the structure of the project, its language, form and process of its evaluation. An emphasis is placed on the importance of the proposal of the research project, which is to coherently and clearly convince the reviewer of the existence of a quality research plan, appropriate competencies, work plan and financial budget. After finishing this course, students will be able to prepare a project proposal designed for support from the side of grant agencies of their choice.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
- active participation in seminars,
- elaboration of two tasks (SMART and SWOT analysis for R&D project) and the preparation of two project proposals (basic research project and a project to innovation of the educational activities),
- the final evaluation of the exam is based on the evaluation of the submitted projects.
Attendance at lectures is required and controlled - a maximum of two excused absences per semester are tolerated. Missed lessons can be compensated by individual consultations. In a case of long-term absence, the compensation of missed lessons is under the decision of the subject guarantor.

- Ability to understand the basic concepts based on process of R&D support from public funds.
- Ability to structure a project proposal.
- Ability to determine a clear aim of the project according to the SMART method.
- Ability to establish budget, deliverables and project schedule.
- Ability to understand the system of public support for R&D in the Czech Republic and abroad.
