Psychology and Sociology in Traffic

The course focuses on the transfer, analysis and application of relevant knowledge and the use of psychological, humanities and sociological aspects in transport. It deals with basic bases of psychology, sociology and pedagogy and the subject of its research in the context of transport, which it evaluates. It focuses on personality and psychological functions in driving from the perspective of normality and pathology (risk driver), from the human perspective in the context of social situations applicable in transport. It deals with some selected aspects concerning attention, perception, influence of emotions, social behavior in traffic situations. It deals with human reactions mentally in a traumatic situation, the emergence of PTSP including victims and their victimization.

Course curriculum
2. Functioning of human psyche, attention, lucidity, vigility. Perception, disturbances in perception, illusions and delusions, methods and techniques of their measurement.
3. Personality, risky personality in driving, basic knowledge about temperament, influence on behavior in traffic situation. Driver and age specifics, old drivers, young drivers, gender issues in transport. Measurement of power and error, propensity to accident.
4. Aggression and aggression, conflicts in the transport social field, stress, stressors, defense mechanisms.
5. Behavior in various social situations, in the crowd, influence of emotions on behavior, behavior and socio-psychological aspects of behavior in transport
6. Altruism and its importance, especially in transport
7. Human-machine cooperation in terms of safety. Positives and negatives of development.
8. Psychosomatic aspects in transport. Significance of self-knowledge, behavior correction, illness, intoxication
9. Mobility and transport and influence on society and quality of life. Inclusive mobility
10. Communication in difficult traffic situations, importance of nonverbal communication. Mediation as a way of conflict resolution.
11. Traffic accident as a traumatic situation, possible consequences and manifestations on the psyche, impacts and their measurement.
12. Post-traumatic stress disorder and its solution
13. Victims of traffic accidents, victimization.
