Students will acquire basic knowledge concerning intellectual property law in the international, community and Czech context.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Tuition takes place in the form of lectures which present basic principles, the methodology of the given discipline, problems and example solutions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The condition for passing the exam is the successful completion of the written exam. Detailed classification rules will be made available in the information system under the entry for the relevant subject.

1. Intellectual property law – general part.
2. Enforcement of intellectual property rights.
3. Trademark law.
4. Company law, right of designation of origin, geographical indications and other designation rights, including domain name rights.
5. Patent and utility model law.
6. Industrial design law
7. Laws governing improvement proposals
8. Copyright and related laws.
9. Database law.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to teach students the basics of intellectual property law, especially the nature of these laws, the individual types of such laws and their characteristics, and licensed as well as other forms of business relations, as well as the protection of these rights.
